21 Celebrity Feuds That Are Ones For The History Books - BuzzFeed

cisobakaso.blogspot.com

Who knew that Martha Stewart felt so strongly about Gwenyth Paltrow?

There are few things in life we can be certain of: death, taxes, and overly dramatic feuds between celebrities. Some are resolved, some are forgotten, and some are held like grudges for decades. No matter who's involved, it's always juicy and petty and we sure love reading about them. Let's take a look at some of our faves.

Will Smith and Janet Hubert-Whitten hated each other for nearly 30 years, until the Fresh Prince reunion.

HBO Max

Janet Hubert-Whitten played Will Smith's aunt in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, but there was definitely no family love between the two. Their on-set tension ultimately led to her being replaced on the show by Daphne Maxwell Reid.

In 1993, Will said in a radio interview: "I can say straight up that Janet Hubert wanted the show to be The Aunt Viv of Bel-Air Show. No matter what, to her, I'm just the Antichrist."

Janet told TMZ in 2011 that she'd never do a Fresh Prince reunion because "I will never do anything with an a**hole like Will Smith".

Well, fast forward a decade, and we all know what happened. The pair came face to face in 2020 for the Fresh Prince reunion special and had a chance to talk things out. They both admitted to being at fault, buried the hatchet, and put the whole thing behind them.

Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker still don't want a bar of each other.

While the Sex and the City reboot was generally well-received, it's weird to watch the show without Samantha. The reason she's not there? Well... Kim Cattrall wasn't invited back. Probably because of her long feud with Sarah Jessica Parker.

There have been rumors of a rift between the two since SATC began airing, with allegations that Kim was unhappy that SJP got paid so much more than her. Though they both denied this feud over the years, it all came to a head when Kim refused to make a third film for the franchise.

A lot of other stuff went down — more on that here — and Kim vows never to get over it. In 2020, she said she has “no regrets” about the way things played out. And SJP doesn't want Kim back on the show anyway: “I think there’s just too much public history of feelings on her part that she’s shared," she told Variety.

Meanwhile, costars Alyssa Milano and Shannen Doherty got older and wiser, and put their long-standing feud behind them.

The WB

Charmed costars Alyssa Milano and Shannen Doherty's ongoing feud reportedly got so intense that it's the reason why Shannen left the show after Season 3.

In 2017, Alyssa revealed that she frequently talks to Shannen over Twitter DM, and that she regrets the years of animosity. "I think we're just at ages now that what happens 15 years ago, or however long ago that was, it's irrelevant. I think that what she has gone through, [and] motherhood in my life, I think it just changes people."

Heidi Montag won't forget or forgive Lauren Conrad for telling her to dump Spencer.

Hills stars LC and Heidi were thick as thieves until 2007, when Heidi's then-boyfriend, Spencer Pratt, spread a rumor that Lauren made a sex tape with her ex, Jason. The besties' relationship completely fell apart, and after The Hills ended they had zero contact.

On a 2021 episode of Call Her Daddy, Heidi says she'll "always love Lauren" and that "it didn't have to go that way."

But she also revealed that, when the Spencer stuff went down, Lauren told Heidi that she would be kicked off the show unless she broke up with Spencer.

Heidi did NOT like that ultimatum: "Yeah, I appreciate you getting me on this show, but that doesn't mean you own me and you can tell me what to do in my life," she continued on the podcast. "I just don't appreciate that."

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had mutual diss-tracks but ended up regretting all the...bad blood.

Taylor Swift / YouTube / Via youtu.be

One of the most famous pop girlie feuds, this one goes back nearly a decade, when Taylor called Katy out for trying to "sabotage" her Red tour.

"She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour," Taylor explained to Rolling Stone. "She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me... So now, I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it."

Katy then tweeted: "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing..."

Taylor's 2014 song "Bad Blood" was about the feud, and Katy's 2017 track "Swish Swish" was considered a response.

But in 2018, Katy sent Taylor a literal OLIVE BRANCH as a peace offering. The next year, she appeared in Taylor's video for "You Need To Calm Down", and all is now well between them.

But don't hold your breath waiting for Taylor to forgive Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun.

This one's a long and involved story, which you probably already know some of. Basically, Taylor's manager Scott Borchetta essentially sold her masters to producer Scooter Braun – someone who Taylor said targeted her with "incessant, manipulative bullying" throughout her career.

She's now re-recording all her old albums, but lyrics on Folklore and Evermore make it very clear how heartbroken she is by the situation. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said that when writing the albums she'd become “very triggered by any stories, movies, or narratives revolving around divorce”.

"All of a sudden this person that you trusted more than anyone in the world is the person that can hurt you the worst," she said, about Scott.

Scooter Braun, as recently as April 2022, is still complaining about Taylor "weaponizing her fanbase".

Elizabeth Taylor and Debbie Reynolds had a decade-long beef but managed to put it behind them and get close again.

These Golden Age girlies really gave us the blueprint for celebrity feuds. It started when Debbie's husband, Eddie, left her for Elizabeth — who was one of Debbie's closest friends. There was a LOT of animosity between them for nearly a decade.

But then they both ended up on the same cruise in 1966 and decided to reconcile. In 2001, Elizabeth and Debbie starred together in the film These Old Broads, written by Debbie's daughter (and Elizabeth's former step-daughter), Carrie Fisher.

Debra Messing and Susan Sarandon have been duking it out on Twitter for years, with no end in sight.

Debra and Susan have been fighting back and forth for YEARS on Twitter, most of it politically motivated.

"She's not very well informed," Susan said in a 2017 interview. "And so sometimes she gets in areas that she hasn't really thought through. Maybe she's Trumpian a little bit like that."

Their tweets continued back and forth over the years, with a lot of petty barbs — at one point, Debra called Susan a "self-righteous narcissist".

There's still a lot of animosity between the two. On an episode of The Kardashians, when Kim said “a girl from Will & Grace" said she shouldn't host SNL, Susan posted a video of the moment to Twitter with a laughing emoji.

Chrissy Teigen and Alison Roman's feud burned bright...but ended quickly.

This one started when NYT food columnist, Alison Roman, insinuated that Chrissy Teigen and Marie Kondo were selling out by making money off merchandise. “She had a successful cookbook," Alison said about Chrissy. "And then it was like: Boom, line at Target. Boom, now she has an Instagram page that has over a million followers where it’s just, like, people running a content farm for her.”

People online did NOT LIKE it one bit, including Chrissy herself, who said: "This is a huge bummer and hit me hard." Alison quickly backpedaled and eventually released a lengthy apology on social media.

Rosie O'Donnell and Donald Trump really love to hate each other, and we don't see them making up.

Bruce Glikas / Bruce Glikas / FilmMagic

A lot of people have a lot of problems with Donald Trump, but Rosie O'Donnell's feud with the former reality star goes way back.

In 2006, while hosting The View, she called him a morally hypocritical "snake-oil salesman". In response, Trump told People: I’ll most likely sue her for making those false statements — and it’ll be fun. Rosie’s a loser, a real loser," he said at the time. "I look forward to taking lots of money from my nice, fat little Rosie."

He continued his vendetta for a decade and a half, frequently bringing her up in interviews and on Twitter. In 2016 she called him an "orange anus"

"I think he can’t let go of a strong woman standing up to him. He won’t let it die," Rosie told The Daily Beast in 2020. The following year, she told TMZ that she “prays to God” that he ends up going to prison.

Brandy and Monica were pitted against each other for years, but have both moved on.

Frank Micelotta Archive / Getty Images

After a long feud spanning decades, Brandy and Monica both put it behind them in 2020 in a Verzuz battle.

Their iconic 1998 duet “The Boy Is Mine” topped the Billboard Hot 100 for an impressive 13 weeks. But after that, they were pitted against each other as young R&B singers making similar music, which led to an ongoing "feud." Looking back, it may have been fabricated by the media — but they've both moved on and are, at the very least, cordial and friendly toward each other.

Gwenyth Paltrow and Martha Stewart will never see eye to eye.

Kevin Mazur / WireImage

Ever since Gwenyth started positioning herself as a leader in the lifestyle space, Martha has been very vocal in her dislike for the actress.

"She wants to be a lifestyle arbiter. Fine. Good. I think I started this whole category of lifestyle," she said in 2013.

The following year, when Gwenyth announced her "conscious uncoupling" from Chris Martin, Martha mocked it with a spread called “Conscious Coupling” in an issue of Martha Stewart Living.

In return, Gwenyth published a recipe for a “Jailbird Cake” on her website, a reference to the time Martha spent behind bars.

In 2020, Martha was still salty about Gwenyth's success. In reference to the infamous Goop vagina candle, she said: "She does that kind of irritatingly — she's trying to zhuzh up the public to listen to her."

Drake Bell and Josh Peck weren't close for a long time, but regret having such a public falling out.

Jesse Grant / WireImage

It seemed like these former Nickelodeon costars were BFFs until Drake called Josh out for not inviting him to his wedding in 2017.

“When you’re not invited to the wedding the message is clear... True colors have come out today. Message is loud and clear. Ties are officially cut. I’ll miss you brotha,” he shared then deleted on social media.

A few months later, they were seen bro-ing out at the VMAs, so it seemed like they'd made up. Josh Peck later cleared it all up, telling BuzzFeed's BFF podcast that the pair actually weren't ever friends after wrapping Drake & Josh.

"Drake and I didn’t stay in touch for the 10 years since we had made the show, but no one needed to know that,” he said. After Josh and his new wife received a LOT of internet hate for the lack of invite, Drake apologized profusely and now the two are chill.

Katherine Heigl and Shonda Rhimes fell out while filming the early seasons of Grey's Anatomy, and we're still hearing all about it.

Carley Margolis / FilmMagic

Katherine Heigl starred in the first six-ish seasons of Grey's Anatomy, and there were always a lot of rumors about her being difficult to work with. In 2006, the actress withdrew her consideration for an Emmy because she "did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant [a nomination]."

When Shonda created the show Scandal, she told THR that she wasn't hiring "a-holes" or "nasty people," adding, "there are no Heigls in this situation."

In 2019, Katherine was supposed to come back to Grey's to film a scene, but apparently, she just didn't show up to set.

Though the pair aren't actively feuding anymore, we don't think there's a chance Katherine will be in any future Shondaland projects.

Chelsea Handler HATED Angelina Jolie for a while there, but later regretted everything she'd said.

Multiple times over the last decade, Chelsea Handler has blasted Angelina Jolie for being a "homewrecker." In 2013, she even said Angelina seemed “like a demon” and a few years later called her a "fucking lunatic."

Even though Chelsea was once close with Jennifer Aniston, she maintained that wasn't the reason for her hatred. “As a woman, I know when you see somebody walking across the room that’s a bad girl," she said in 2013. "I just don’t like Angelina Jolie. I don’t think she’s a girl’s girl. I like girl’s girls!”

In a 2019 interview with Andy Cohen, Chelsea walked back her comments. “You know what, I’m upset that I was so upset with Angelina Jolie,” she said. “I realize, she’s just trying to do her best, too.”

Pusha T seems bored by his feud with Drake... but vowed to never go to one of his shows.

Pusha T and Drake had been beefing since 2006, but it really heated up in 2018 when Pusha T alleged that Drake had a secret son in his diss track “The Story of Adidon," which, as we know, turned out to be true.

Though Pusha told Complex in 2021 that he was past the feud, saying "bygones are bygones," the following year he said that he had nothing to gain from making amends.

"I don’t really stand anything to gain from squashing anything," he said. “I’m not entertaining it. There’s nothing I want from the situation. I don’t want to do a record. I don’t want to do none of that.”

Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan said a lot of mean things about each other, but are no longer catty teens.

J. Merritt / FilmMagic

One of the most iconic feuds of the '00s, Paris and Lindsay low-key hated each other for years. They started out as friends, but in 2006 Lindsay claimed that Paris had thrown a drink at her, and Paris claimed that Lindsay had called her a c***. Even as recently as 2019, Paris called her "lame" and "embarrassing".

Aaaaannnyway, it looks like they've ironed things out once and for all. Paris told Andy Cohen in January 2022 that they're friends again. “I just feel like we’re grown-ups now. I just got married. She just got engaged. We’re not in high school. I think it was just very immature and now everything is all good.”

“I saw that she got engaged when I was on my honeymoon, and I just said congratulations,” Paris explained about how they got back in touch.

George Clooney and Russell Crowe had a dumb fight in the media, and won't ever forget it.

Laurent Koffel / Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images, Mark Metcalfe / Getty Images for AFI

George Clooney and Russell Crowe have been beefing for nearly a decade. In 2013, George told Esquire that Russ had called him a "sell-out" for appearing in TV commercials, saying that the Gladiator star needed to apologize for "insulting the sh*t out of me."

He said that Russell tried to make amends, but kind of missed the mark. "He sends me a disc of his music and a thing of his poetry," Clooney said. "I think he said, 'I was all misquoted,' and I was like, 'Yeah, yeah. Whatever.'"

In 2020, an anonymous source claimed the two still hate each other, and it all stems back to Russell winning the Gladiator role over Clooney.

Megan Fox and Michael Bay had some on-set tension but are now BFFs.

Don Arnold / FilmMagic

There was reportedly a LOT of tension between Megan Fox and director Michael Bay while they worked together on the Transformers films. She told Wonderland that he was like "Hitler" at work. "He's vulnerable and fragile in real life," she said, "and then on set he's a tyrant."

He called her quotes "outlandish," while other crew members called Fox "as about ungracious a person as you can ever fathom". She didn't appear in the third Transformers movie.

Fox and Bay have since made up, with the actress saying in 2018 that they were "BFFs."

Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi couldn't even keep it civil enough to film one scene together.

CBS

The Good Wife actors, Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi, reportedly had such a deep-seated hatred for each other that they managed to go three seasons without sharing the screen.

When their characters finally had a scene together in Season 6, they both filmed the scene separately using stand-ins. It was all edited together in post-production to make it seem like they were in the same room. It's kinda obvious, though — they never look each other in the eye and there's an invisible line down the center of the shot that neither of them crosses.

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie started as BFFs, turned into enemies, and are now friends again.

Frank Trapper / Corbis via Getty Images

Another Paris feud that has, thankfully, been resolved. Of course, they started as besties, but cracks started to appear in 2004. The next year, Paris told People that they were no longer friends, saying "Nicole knows what she did, and that's all I'm ever going to say about it."

She missed Nicole's wedding in 2010, despite reportedly being invited.

But in 2014, Nicole said that Paris was "a true friend." They were still close in 2019, Paris telling Andy Cohen: "I love Nicole. We were actually texting three days ago because it's our high school reunion, so she was reminding me of the date."
