Steph Curry has been near the mountaintop at Lake Tahoe several times, but unlike his work on the hardwood, he has not reached the summit. Could his tenth attempt in the annual celebrity golf tournament result in his first title?

The Warriors star is listed with 4/1 odds to win the American Century Championship at Edgewood Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada, and his father is not far behind at 33/1, tied for tenth-best odds in the tournament, according to SportsBetting.ag.
Steph Curry has finished in the top four at the tournament three times in nine appearances.
Seth Curry, the Philadelphia 76ers guard and Steph’s brother, opened at 125/1 odds, tied for 20th-best. While Steph has played the celebrity tournament nine times and his father has played seven, this will be Seth’s first time. Perhaps a bit of beginner’s luck is in order for the youngest Curry in the field.
Overall, retired tennis star Mardy Fish is the favorite at 2/1 odds, with former Cowboys quarterback and current CBS color commentator Tony Romo at 3/1, just ahead of Steph Curry. Ex-A’s and Cardinals pitcher Mark Mulder (5/1) and retired golfer Annika Sorenstam (6/1) round out the top five.
Mulder won three straight titles at the event from 2015-17, then Romo won two consecutive and Fish took home the crown in the 2020 tournament.
Also in the field are 49ers great Jerry Rice (150/1), Raiders quarterback Derek Carr (500/1) and longtime Curry skeptic Charles Barkley (2500/1).
The Curry trio will tee off in a group together at 11:11 Friday morning for the first round.
The event features a $600,000 purse, with $125,000 to the winner. Many of the players contribute their winnings to non-profits, totaling more than $5.5 million over the history of the event.
