Jennifer Aniston's Facialist Used the Lyma Laser too Prep Her for 2024 Golden Globes - PEOPLE

Since launching in 2022, the Lyma Laser, an at-home device that helps smooth fine lines, reduce inflammation and firm skin, has generated a fan club that includes top dermatologists, A-list facialists and celeb skincare enthusiasts including Kim Kardashian, Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow and Hailey Bieber, who have all raved about the anti-aging wand (Hudson called it "one of the best things I’ve ever used on my face" in an Instagram video).

“I love it!” says board-certified cosmetic dermatologist Dendy Engelman, MD, FACMS, FAAD. “And every celeb I treat uses it and loves it too.”

It’s the first FDA-cleared laser for at-home use, and it's reportedly 100 times stronger than other LED tools, but what makes the LYMA such a game-changer for celeb pros is that it uses something called low-level laser therapy (LLLT), which makes it non-invasive and non-ablative, meaning there is zero downtime.

That’s why Joanna Czech used the LYMA (two of them at a time to be exact) to prep nearly 30 clients, including Jennifer Aniston, Minnie Driver, Natasha Lyonne, Kaitlyn Dever and Camila Morronefor all the events and parties leading up to the Golden Globes. (Her record is 54 facials within five days.)

“It helps calm and soothe imperfections and I also see a tightening effect on the skin,“ says Czech, who combines 10 minutes of using the dual LYMAs to infuse a serum (she alternates between LYMA’s Glide Gel and her own C+ and Soothing Serums) with her signature lifting and sculpting massage (she calls it “slapping”), plus micro-current and negative ionization.

Czech says most of her celeb clients now own their own LYMAs and she encourages them to use it every day at-home or on set (“it’s so easy because it’s TSA-friendly and Netflix-friendly”), since it takes about two to three months to reap the full benefits. “The skin looks more unified when you use it for three months straight. It helps with stubborn hyperpigmentation and wrinkles and increases elasticity."

And while the LYMA doesn’t cause redness or irritation, Czech advises her celeb clients to wait at least 12 hours before they hit a red carpet. “I tell them to go to sleep after their facial,” she says. “Makeup artists like you more when you convince your client not to get a facial the day of an event.”
